Position summary
Northeastern Public Health (NEPH) is seeking an independent, highly motivated individual to join its team of public health professionals. The successful candidate will provide Dental Hygienist duties throughout the district The Dental Hygienist is responsible for the advocacy, promotion and provision of the oral health program and services.
Job responsibilities
- Support monitoring and generating reports from local, provincial, and national datasets to assist in program planning and evidence-informed decision making.
- Participate and contribute to program planning.
- Act as a resource person regarding oral health professionals.
- Develop and maintain necessary relationships with district community partners.
- Process client applications and reassessments for oral health program eligibility.
Qualifications
- Must be a Certified Dental Hygienist and have current membership in the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Knowledge of publicly funded oral health programs is an asset.
- Working knowledge of electronic medical records and other Ministry recording systems (e.g. OHISS).
- Fluently bilingual in both official languages is considered an asset.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and transportation to meet programming needs.
- Required to comply with the Health Unit’s immunization policies, which require vaccination against COVID-19 unless a valid medical exemption is provided.
