Timmins, ON – Northeastern Public Health has rolled out its updated online disclosure program, HealthWise. This program allows people to see inspection reports before visiting local businesses.
Suzanne Lajoie, Manager of Environmental Health, says, “This online program helps keep the public safe and reduce illness. People can visit our website anytime to see the latest inspection reports for restaurants, pools, salons, beaches and enforcement actions.” Lajoie adds that businesses will also display a sign with the website link to the HealthWise site.
The online disclosure program also lets people check whether a location is being inspected by Northeastern Public Health. "Sometimes businesses open without notifying the health unit, even though the law requires them to,” says Lajoie.
