Position summary

We are seeking an individual to join a small team working on the final year of a PHAC-funded Planet Youth project in Timiskaming, Ontario. We are specifically seeking experience and skill in program evaluation, report-writing, storytelling, and community engagement. Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Public Health Promoter is a member of an interdisciplinary team guided by requirements outlined within the Ontario Public Health Standards and other local public health mandates. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health promotion or related field with health promotion courses.
  • Experience in program planning and implementation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in social media and risk communication.
  • Experience in graphic design is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Familiar with the Ontario Public Health Standards, Protocols, and Guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as required by the program.
  • Access to a vehicle and possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check.
  • Required to comply with Immunization policies, including COVID-19 vaccination, unless a valid medical exemption is provided.
