Position summary

Northeastern Public Health is seeking a registered practical nurse to support the immunization program. Under the supervision, support, and guidance of the program manager, the Registered Practical Nurse participates as a member of an interdisciplinary team to plan and implement public health initiatives.  The Registered Practical Nurse will play a key role in supporting the program by providing direct services and clinical support within their community and catchment area. 

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved diploma program in practical nursing;
• Current Registered Practical Nurse Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario, and a member in good standing;
• Recent vaccine administration and clinical experience will be an asset;
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
• Effective documentation skills in an electronic environment;
• Proficiency in both official languages is considered an asset;
• Be willing to have a flexible schedule and travel to meet the needs of the program;
• Access to a vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s license;
• Satisfactory criminal background check;
• Required to comply with Immunization policies, including COVID-19 vaccination, unless a valid medical exemption is provided.
